I believe the most important digital marketing strategy is social networking. Social networking can create a positive buzz about a product or service and can greatly help a new e-business to build its reputation. A good social networking strategy can increase web page traffic and can help convert browsers to customers.

Hi James, I agree with you and many businesses are realizing that to increase traffic and loyalty to their e-business, they need to find ways to support social networking on or through their Web sites and to link into existing social networking sites.

I feel that the most important digital marketing strategy is pricing. An example I can use is the “Gold Box” deal of the day through Amazon. Amazon uses pricing and time to get customers to purchase. This alone creates social buzz because consumers let other consumers know about the pricing. I think that having low pricing can also create impulse buying by simply clicking “add to cart”.

I am a fan of content organized advertising, I think goggle did it right by offering very high quality free services for an exchange of targeted advertising. There is still an privacy issue with it that bothers me a bit though. Then again I rather look at advertisements that at least are of interest to me.

I believe gathering information about users based on the server logs, and the most frequent search entries helps companies tailor their products and services to better serve the customer. It is controversial and some believe that it violates privacy but I think that with any good company information warehousing is a part of the decision making process for developing a strategic plan and data gathered from the customer search fields are a part of determining goals for future products and services.

I believe the most important digital marketing strategy is a little bit of increasing traffic, social networking, converting browsers to customers. I think an organization needs to find the happy medium in balancing their web site to create a perfect digital marketing strategy.

In my opinion, the most important strategy for achieving a website marketing goal is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). It is this concept that allows websites to obtain top rankings for its phrases that appear on search engines. Since the Internet has huge daily volumes of searches, it is imperative for all e-businesses that want to achieve success to engage in this concept by having easily found search results.

I feel that connecting with your target audience and making sure that your site is not only user friendly but easy to use from a functionality standpoint is critical to the success of your site. If customers can use it, or there are errors in the applications and slow download speeds for web enabled video or live streaming, customers will become frustrated and not use the site. Which will result in lack of revenue and customer awareness of your product

Thanks for your collective comments on using social networking and SEO. I think these strategies are complementary, so it’s a win-win for anyone who uses both of them.

  11. Because all digital media is ‘addressable’, we have the power to deliver highly targeted, relevant messages to consumers. But this only works if we first understand who they are, what they want and how they want it. Know thy consumer…and the best way to find out about them is to simply ask. Today, marketing on the Web is about dialog, not monologue.
